PROJECT OVERVIEW
Owner: M.C. Dean, Inc.
Location: Baltimore, MD
Sector(s): Office, Renovation
.
With an eye towards the future and a “greener” environment, M. C. Dean, a Building Intelligence Engineering firm selected a 100-year-old building in the Historic Federal Hill section of Baltimore, MD for renovations of their new Regional Head Quarters. The urban location created site construction logistical challenges as well as structural issues related to a 100 year old building with previous fire damaged heavy timber framing.

The completed Adaptive Reuse project was awarded LEED Gold Certification. Many of the building’s original architectural features were saved as decorative elements in the interior design such as heavy timber framing and ceilings, restored brick walls, restored exterior concrete walls and the interior skylight monitor.
